Syzygy Dance Project wanted a short, documentary-style video for their #GivingTuesday2015 campaign that would show the depth of the organization’s impact on veterans, inmates, recovering addicts, the elderly and at-risk youth. Small Business Marketing

Attorney Kelly Balamuth asked me to conduct interviews with herself and a business partner that they could use for marketing purposes on their web site. She liked the “Apple aesthetic,” so we shot the interviews on a white scrim in her offices. Since she had access to her original logo artwork, I was able to create an animated opening for the videos using Apple Motion.  Here’s what she had to say about the process:

Corporate Documentary

This client asked me to produce a documentary-style video that made their technology accessible and interesting to a lay audience.  This was such a fun project, despite the incredibly tight deadlines and minuscule budget.  I wanted to include the product (which sits on top of a moving truck) into the background of the interviews, and it was a challenge to find a location where it would fit.  I worked with a very talented graphic artist who created the background art, so we were able to make the set – which was really just a well-lit warehouse space –  look interesting.  The video won a Telly Award.  Here’s what the client had to say:

Product Marketing Video

This is one of my favorite videos.  There’s something really fun about making your colleague fall in a pond, get shot by a water cannon or crushing the product with a truck.  I even had to make some concrete and pour it over the instrument!  My role on this project was the whole magilla – storyboard, script, shooting, editing, post-production.  It was also translated into 5 languages.  Here’s what this client says about working with me on this type of product video:

Product Video Case Study

This project involved a road trip to Durango, Colorado to visit GeoNav headquarters to do a case study on the innovative ways they used specialized geo-mapping equipment.  Several location shoots were required, including point-of-view shooting with a GoPro camera, to get the perspective of the product.  I did all the camera work, editing and post production on the project.

This is one of many short promo videos I did at Topcon Positioning.  With the exception of the boom shoots (which I directed), I did all of the shooting, editing and motion graphics.  Here’s what the client said:
